    Description

Another beautiful naval sword. Most likely 16th or early 17th  century.  Large 10 sided pommel. Ribbed leather grip. Full clam shell hand guard. Incomplete knuckle bow and triple down turned quillons. The two side quillons have tiny teeth inside the curves. The double edged blade has 2 fullers beginning about 2 1/2" from the point that run parallel to the edges. As the blade widens, a 3rd fuller appears in the center. The fullers continue to about 5" from the hilt on the front side, 6" on the reverse. This last section of blade is flat, and decorated with large pictorial engravings.  I'll let the pictures speak for those.  I haven't put any effort into identifying this one. If you think you know he nationality, I'd love to hear from you.
    Overall 39 3/4", blade 33 1/8" long X 2 3/8" wide. 3 Lbs. 14.9 oz.
