    Description

Back in stock! Price increase of 10% on wholesale cost due to tariffs on Chinese imports, sorry :( At some point these had to be passed on to the US. distributor CAS Iberia, then Sellers, finally to you the Buyers, but we've all tried to phase them in over time.  The good news is that this blade will probably last a lifetime!
From Hanwei Forge, approved for sparring and HEMA competition. The high-carbon flex-tempered steel blades closely follow the proportions of the period and are button tipped for safety. These tapered blades provide a superior balance compared to the traditional parallel-sided schlagers, making for a lighter, faster sword.

See last photos. In response to Buyer's question, tang is approximately 4-7/8" long with a 1-1/2" long threaded end, threads are metric 6-1.00,  ricasso is approximately 1" wide and 3/16" thick.
An outstanding blade, available in both 37" and 43" lengths (42" and 48" overall) We have a dozen of them in use in my Adria group, and never had one broken or even bent. You can pay twice as much and not get a higher quality blade IMHO. I have one from a custom forge that I paid a fortune for and it often gets a bend in the end that I have to straighten out, I know that's where it will break one day.
I sell what I own and recommend. I'm a collector and a weekend warrior. See my seller ratings and buy with confidence. Plus I ship fast :) Any questions just ask.
This is also a replacement blade for Paul Chen | Hanwei Practical Rapier SH1099, perfect for HEMA sparring or stage combat. Top quality. Highly recommended. See close-up photos to get an idea of the solid construction with thick Ricasso and tang, no welds. See sparring photo of 43" version in action, this blade has superb strength and flexibility.

1566 is a high-carbon and manganese spring steel used by Hanwei in many of their differentially hardened Japanese swords and through-hardened medieval swords. This deep hardening steel provides a consistent microstructure ensuring a long life and excellent edge holding in demanding applications.
