Description
This is to many strings and pedals for me. . . .This is an amazing instrument, easy to change what any lever or pedal does, and stays in tune.
Below is what Bobbe Seymour said about this guitar August 19, 2002 - 20 years ago.
Norwood, a Anapeg with imagination, A Franklin with beauty, a Msa with tone, an Emmons that requires understanding, a Sho-Bud with "built in" quality, great guitar, no kidding. He would have had to sell them for .000.00 each to make a profit though. Truly a museum piece. What am I saying?
bOb asked, how do it work? my answer? FINE! Yes, it's a really good guitar. Better than most, Bigsby quality with David Jackson imagination. (have I dropped enough names here?)

See the 1st photo: there is one spot located above the d in "Norwood" where the chip (scape) is through the finish. Please ask for more photos as EBAY limits me to 12. I would be happy to send you close ups of all you desire.
Or, If you live near Newnan, Ga then contact me about checking it out in person.
EXTREMELY RARE NORWOOD S14 Pedal Steel Guitar. I was told that only 6 known to exist.
The fret board slides out and there is a hole for each string. to tune or set up, you just insert a allen screw stop on whatever string. You can push or pull any or all string's that you choose.
Paul Norwood's
idea was to be able to get a full chord at any position, something like Seamores trick lever. Also works great tuned co-dependent.
The pedals and knees are tuned under the fret board to raise (and under the body to lower) each desired string with that particular pedal or lever.
Works great, and it sounds great. And, the wood is extremely nice solid maple - it is heavy.
Paul Norwood built steels his Steel Guitars in the 60's and 70's.
Someone asked - How does it work? my answer? AMAZING! Yes, it's a SUPURB guitar. Better than most, Bigsby quality with David Jackson imagination. (have I dropped enough names here?).
The shallow angle of the strings where they connect to the changer, keeps it from breaking many strings.
Tuning is Extremely stable.
Very easy to change whatever any pedal or knee lever you desire to raise or lower any or all strings.
The action is so SMOOTH and EASY that I can push a pedal down with any of my fingers including pinky.
24 inch scale length.
Using D'Addario E9 11-38 pedal strings, I tuned Standard E9 (high to low strings 1 - 10: F# D# G# E B G# F# E D B).
Tuning
match the Hal Leonard Guitar Method Pedal Steel Guitar Book/CD for E9 Tuning, Pedals, and Knee Levers etc. and the Song book from same which will make it easy for a beginner or intermediate player to learn.
I tune the Low 14, 13, 12, and 11 string to B6. Low to high: B D# F# G#
.
This is the current turning of pedals and knee levers on this guitar:
Pedal A raises 5th and 10th strings from B to C#;
Pedal B raises strings 3rd and 6th strings from G# to A;
Pedal C raises 4th E to F# and 5th B to C#;
LKL Raises strings 4 and 8 from E to F;
LKR lowers E to Eb/D# 4th and 8th strings;
RKR lowers 2nd string from D# to D and lowers 9th string D to C#;
RKL Raises 1st and 7 strings from F# to G;
This guitar come with plenty of extra tuning allen bolts and stops to retune anyway you desire.
